Weekend
by CanadianLyndsay on Nov.20, 2005, under z-Old Posts
This weekend was pretty good.
Driving home from work Friday night I felt so sick in the car. It’s been a long time since I had motion sickness. Dave and I planned to stay home, but Jenna called to see if we wanted to come over and see the baby. Hell yeah! We visited with her until almost 10. Again, felt so sick coming home.
So yesterday (Saturday) I did nothing. Didn’t go anywhere, didn’t do anything, and it was great. I love days that involve nothing but cuddling on the couch.
Today was more of the same, but we did go out to get a few groceries and return some movies. I’m feeling much better today. I can’t afford to miss work, so here’s hoping whatever was wrong is gone.
The weather was quite mild today, high of 7. It makes for such a mess. I almost wish it would stay below 0 so we don’t get this constant snow, cold, warm, melt cycle. That’s what it’s like in Ontario and I hated it.
And I’ve GOT to get going on my Christmas shopping. I’m not even 100% sure who I need to buy for. Should figure that out soon.
Remembrance Day Weekend

It was a busy weekend, but a boring one as well.
Sam and I headed down to Grand Forks on Friday. We left Winnipeg at 9:30 and crossed the border at 12:30. You got it, it took over an hour and a half to go about a kilometre at the border. It was outrageous. Go to the mall in Grand Forks at about 3 after having lunch at the Ponderosa. We went to Victoria’s Secret (where I spent WAY too much), hit J.C. Penney and came home. Friday evening, Dave and I watched Star Wars Episode III.
Saturday – woke up late, around 10:30. Picked Sam up at 11:30 and we went to Superstore and Walmart to get presents for Jenna’s baby shower. We got Nickolas a little Team Canada jersey – I love it!! I wanted to get one for the day I have a baby. After the shower, Dave and I went to his brother’s place for dinner. Came home and watched some of the special features on the Star Wars DVD.
Sunday – here comes the boring part. Woke up, had a shower, came downstairs to football on the TV. With the exception of about an hour watching Meet the Fockers, it’s been football from 10:00 until 6:00, when Dave finally started feeling sorry for me and we watched the Penn and Teller special.
And now it’s 8:00, time for Desperate Housewives. We’re recording the SNL 80’s special, and I will watch that tomorrow. Once Desperate Housewives is over I’ll go to bed.
Oh yeah! I baked cookies today too.
Snow

I can honestly say I’ve never freaked out about driving in bad weather.
Until today.
But in all fairness, this was the first major snow of my first winter in Winnipeg. And also, as it turns out, there’s no way I would have been able to drive to work in my Mustang.
So I beg Dave… okay I didn’t really have to BEG… but sweetheart that he is, he drove me to work from 7:00 a.m. I’m so glad he did. Like I said, I wouldn’t have been able to do it myself with my car.
And so I owe him big time. I will start with a back rub and go from there.
I want to get a remote car starter for my car, but it looks like my car will be stored for a while anyway, since Jen has no where to put her truck now that it has snowed. But still… despite my car sucking in the winter, I will miss it if I can’t drive it. Besides, then I either have to borrow a car or be chauffered whenever I want to go somewhere.
Today

Wow!! I beat Dave at Backgammon!! I won the match 3-1!
I’m not sure that’ll ever happen again, but I’m basking in the glory now.
This wasn’t really a good day. I got to work at 6:50 this morning as usual. Only problem is that no one was at work to unlock the doors until 7:45. So I volunteered to wait at the door until it opened while the others waited in their nice warm cars. It seemed like a good idea at first, because who knew how long it would be? By 7:30 I was so numb I knew I wouldn’t get warm anyway so I just waited it out.
Well by time I got home I was so cold, I had such a chill, it took about 3 hours to warm up. I’m finally warm now but my muscles hurt. I feel a bit sick to my stomach too, though I doubt that’s related.
I’ll probably just go to bed early tonight. Though I’m not going to say a time because last night I did NOT go to bed after Desperate Housewives. We watched War At Home and *then* I went to bed. I don’t want to be called a LIAR.
