The long weekend wasn’t too bad. Just the right mix of rest, visiting, relaxation, and work.

Friday after work I conked out for about three hours, then went to bed at 9:30 anyway. Dan came and picked Dave up to go fishing early – about 4:30 a.m. I think. I’m not sure I was ever awake enough to look at the clock. I woke up around 9 and decided to go to work for a few hours – you know, enjoy the piece and quiet, make up some time from taking the Monday after the wedding off. Saturday night we just played some Backgammon and relaxed.

Sunday I baked pie! Made three apple pies. Then we went to Ken and Sara’s to watch the Bomber game with them and Amy. Alex and Julianna are so sweet. I took a couple pictures of Alex, Ken & Sara’s five-month old – I’ll have to post them later. After we concluded that the Bombers were going to lose horrendously, Dave beat us all at NHL Monopoly and finally we went home.

Monday I know I got up and dressed, but I don’t think I did much else. We watched football and played SkipBo. Folded the laundry. WOW talk about excitement.

Last night I went to the dentist. It was alright, but I had a migraine yesterday so I pretty much just laid back, closed my eyes, and enjoyed some pain OTHER than the pain in my head and neck. I’m in dire need of a massage, I think Dave and I will do that on Saturday.

Today is Thursday, one more work day this week! Yaa!!

I am looking foward to tomorrow, for a very strange reason. It means that August is over.

Don’t get me wrong, I had a FABULOUS August. I did more things in one month than I’ve done in years. What went on in August?

~ Six days in San Jose, California for the Search Engine Strategies conference
~ Danny (Dave’s brother) got married
~ Tons of family came to Winnipeg for the wedding
~ Drove my mustang to Ontario and flew back

I suppose that doesn’t sound like a lot. But in reality, I was only home for 2/3 of the month. And I don’t think I went to bed any earlier than 9:00 p.m. for more than 5 or 6. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to sleep!

Next week, the first week of September, I will hit three months at my current job, which means the end of probation. Woohoo! I mean, its not that I’m worried I wouldn’t have made it, but it truly means a sigh of relief to get past that milestone. And my benefits kick in on Tuesday, which is just in time for my Wednesday dentist appointment and the massage that I’m desperately craving.

Tonight starts the beginning of the 2006 CFL season! Right now we’re in the first quarter and the Bombers are up 7-0. Yea! I wore my Bomber jersey and hat to work today to get the action going.

We had pizza today at work which was nice! One of the guys at work is allergic to cheese and actually gets his pizza with NO cheese! I think that’s awesome. I hate cheese, but always get it on my pizza because I like the extra grease that the cheese brings. I tried one of the slices without cheese and it wasn’t bad. I think I’ll continue to order cheese on my pizza and just pick it off.

Today I got the greatest surprise!!

Jillian emailed me today – out of the blue, I haven’t chatted with the girl since before Christmas – turns out she and Peter are arriving in St. Catharines ONE DAY before Dave and I!! How awesome is that! So not only do I get to spend time with her and Peter, they get to meet Dave too! I am so excited. I called her when I got home from work since I can call overseas for free now. It was so so nice to chat with her. Silly Peter, he answered the phone with a VERY impressive Canadian accent. It took me a few seconds to realize it was him! Oh I am just so happy right now. This is going to be a great trip.
